Building a Community of Practice

March 2018: It was a pleasure to have all of our partners together in Rwanda at a retreat at the end of March to see the amazing work the Kepler & SNHU partnership has accomplished over the last five years.

Bringing together partners from Lebanon, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, and South Africa was a special moment for the GEM team. As launches are underway in Kenya, Malawi and South Africa this month, there couldn’t have been a better time for the partners to dig into the challenges, triumphs, and next steps of the work evident in a five year established partnership. The Kepler team did an amazing job partnering with us on the retreat to make sure participants were able to learn from the careful and strategic planning the organization has undergone since inception.

A big thanks and shout out to the entire team who helped to lead sessions and clearly put in the work to build the kind of relationships that will be essential to ensuring the success of our work over the next two years and beyond. It was magic to watch everyone work together during the sessions.

Important steps were made towards understanding strategies in gender equality, academic success, and building teams on the ground that can work collaboratively to get this work done.

The work of Kepler students in the workplace was also a big inspiration to partners. Thanks to all of you for coming to the retreat with hardworking and open minds. It is amazing to watch us and our partner teams grow!
